It is in Yogyakarta, but we are not talking about a beach or temple. But we are talking about a waterfall.
Waterfall!!! Have you ever visited any waterfall yet? The waterfalls are iconic with water that fall from the high ground that is caused by geology formation, and generally it's made by nature way. But did you know if there also exist some waterfalls made by a human? Yeah, humans are crazy for making any innovation for any reason. And some of them, are making an artificial waterfall for any purposes, for tourist purposes or water control.
And there is a beautiful artificial waterfall in Yogyakarta is called "Grojogan Sewu Watu Purbo". This waterfall is very unique because its formation does not look usually as any waterfall. It has 6 levels of terraces that are fed by a small stream of water. The initiation of this building since 1957 is to overcome an eruption impact of Merapi that usually brings cold lava streams through kali krasak and kali bebeng. But sadly this building has been abandoned for many years until 2017 and it's got renovation as a tourist destination in Yogyakarta. It's located in bangunrejo, merdikarjo, Kec. Tempel, Kab. Sleman, Yogyakarta.
This destination will give you a natural view from beautiful trees from the surrounding forest and many big river stones on it, so its good for relaxing your mind, either for photography spot, picnic spot or gathering with your family and also you are allowed for camping in available place around the waterfall. The recommended time to visit this destination is while the rainy season because the stream water is quite big so you can get more beautiful views there. The fee entrance to "Grojogan Sewu Watu Purbo" is free. You only need to pay for parking fee for Rp 5000 for a motorcycle and Rp 10000 for a car. The time operation of this destination starts from 06.00 A.M -06.00 P.M and the schedule can be changed according to the nature situation or manager's policy.
