Officially known as the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, Coachella or Chella is an annual music and arts festival held at the Empire Polo Club, Indio, California. This festival was first held in 1999. After being canceled for two years due to the high daily cases of Covid-19, Coachella is back this year featuring many top musicians. Coachella is usually held on two different weekends each April but with almost always different dates. Usually held Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Internationally renowned musicians performed well at Coachella 2022. Among them were three musicians from Indonesia who made Indonesia proud at the music festival, namely Niki Zefanya, Rich Brian and Warren Hue. The three became the first Indonesians to appear at Coachella.
Niki Zefanya who played on Friday (April 15, 2022) became the first Indonesian singer to perform at Coachella. The musicians who are part of 88Rising look great when they sing one of their songs, "Strange Land," by strumming an acoustic guitar. Niki stage Andra & The Backbone's song "Sempurna" on the Coachella Niki skillfully plays this 2000's amazingly and still shows Niki's trademark.
Rich Brian performed his musical works in front of an international stage followed by millions of spectators. A rapper who continues his career with 88rising continues to look stunning on every stage. One of the most memorable moments was when he introduced Jakarta's most iconic. "If you don't know me, my name is Rich Brian. I'm from Jakarta, Indonesia," he said.
Niki and Rich Brian were not the only Indonesian musicians performing on the Coachella stage. Warren Hue, one of 88rising's talents, also appeared on a special stage at Coachella. rapper Indonesian is also 88rising from the act set 'Head in the Clouds Forever'. In addition, he performed his hit song "Runaway W Me". He also performed the song "California" with the 88rising Indonesian label trio, Brian and Jackson project released by Brian, Warren Hue and Niki.
The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival , known as Festival , has been held annually since 1999. In addition to Brian , Niki and Warren Hue, many other artists have also appeared, including 2NEI's K-Pop Queen, who reunited for the event , Jackson Wang of GOT7, Hikaru Utada and others.
Those are some of the excitement of the Coachella stage filled with musicians from Indonesia.
