Cosplay, it’s something that is quite familiar to us. A culture that is famous for its distinctive feature—characteristic identification of a character that is currently being discussed. A homemade or high-class processed product with a taste of ‘like seeing a character in a virtual world in front of your eyes. The beauty of a product, the agility of a character’s signature movements, and the facial mimic that resembles the character is an important point in carrying out the cosplay.
Recently, this culture has attracted interest from children to adults. Their way of life in this world which is ‘similar’ to a character is also the reason why they want to ‘look like’ them. Wrapped in a costume that is identical to the character, covered with foundation and blush on that implements the character ‘like the most beautiful princess in their world’, special items that cannot be missed, speech technique bring some more point plus that character adds to the ‘unique and colorful’ cosplay’s world.

The identic of cosplay in bringing the charm of Japanese animation style which can be said to be a “common” thing for a cosplayer to be in Japanese event brings a new nuance with a theme of famous Japanese characters with 2D visualization that we can’t even touch them. With their presence, the audience’s perception of the 2D animation style was ‘swallowed up by the earth, knowing their beautiful and handsome cosplayer in front of your eyes. Seems like 1000 years dream that seemed to be a high level-fantasy—like peterpan song with the title “ Khayalan Tingkat Tinggi” 😊
This time, we had the opportunity to interview a cosplayer at Java Thrift Day Event in Solo Grand Mall. He is a veteran cosplayer. He’s now cosplaying like a character that is being warmly discussed by the audience.

He has a stage name, Ichi. Ichi in Japanese is “One” maybe there’s a reason why he named this Ichi. This time, Ichi plays an anime character named “Loid Forger” from Spy x Familly. He admits that the fund he needs isn’t affordable. Moreover, he really likes to be creative in completing his art. Then that euphoria, which is considered very crowded, makes the costume uncomfortable due to sweat. Make-up isn’t his habit, one of the factors of a struggle in cosplay. He tells how the profile of a “Loid Forger”, who works as a spy where he has to disguise himself as a husband who has a cute daughter. He admitted that actually he was just experimenting but because of addiction, he finally decided to continue. Not only cosplay, but he also has dubbing skills. He even dubbed the character several times with a famously heavy voice. The experience of being cosplay is a new experience, with endless euphoria.
Message for you who want to cosplay but are still embarrassed to show your face namely, don't be shy ‘throw your shame in a river. Try to start with low cosplay. First, try to grow your confidence in front of the audience. Try to find the solution so that you can stand in front of the audience.
