Students' 2021 at the Law Faculty, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta, were stirred up by fraud under the guise of asking for credit on behalf of the lecturer.
According to Dr. Muchamad Iksan, S.H., M.H as the head of the Law faculty study program, the chronology of the fraud that occurred at the end of last May began when he received WhatsApp messages from several students. In those messages, they claimed they were receiving WhatsApp messages on behalf of the lecturer, with the contents of the message asking to send some money and some asking to be sent credit.
According to him, fraud like this was nothing new. However, it just so happened that at this time many names were being misused, causing unrest among students. It was also possible that many students of the Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta have become victims.
"Yes, it just so happened that the fraud case that just happened took many victims. The perpetrators take advantage of the victim's negligence to ask for what they need on behalf of someone else to manipulate the fraud process," said Iksan.
Several names of lecturers were misused in this fraud case, including: (1) Sudaryono, SH, M.hum, (2) Marisa Kurnianingsih, SH, M.Kn, (3) Dr. Muchamad Iksan S.H., M.H.
But unfortunately, until now the perpetrator has not been found because fraudsters usually use single-use numbers. In order to prevent similar cases of fraud, the faculty finally made an announcement through a large group of Law faculty on Telegram.
"So, I made the announcement on telegram, so that I can prevent similar cases of fraud because the impact will worsen the good name of the lecturers who are abused," added Iksan.
