Coinciding with the 104th anniversary of the inauguration of the Mangkunegaran building, the National Press Monument held a photo exhibition. This exhibition has been held for one month starting from June 30-July 31, 2022 taking place directly at the Main Building Solo National Press Monuments Jl. Gajahmada No.59, Timuran, Banjarsari, Surakarta. The exhibition carries the theme “Pesona Solo Tempo Doeloe” which displays a total of 65 photos of the city of Solo around the 1900s from the Koninklijk Instituut voor Taal –, Land – en Volkenkunde (KITLV) website.
Arnain Dian Agustin as Public Relations Officer of the National Press Monument explained that, in fact, the Solo Tempo Dulu exhibition was also held in 2018 and the visitor interest was very large, reaching 3000 visitors in one month.
"So we want to start an on-the-spot exhibition again after this pandemic so that people can come to the Press Monument and get to know what Solo was like. If you look at the photos, the city of Solo is unique—like a city created by the Dutch, so we want to introduce that Solo is very beautiful and has been a developed city since the beginning, said Arnain.

In addition to holding a photo exhibition, the Press Monument also held a drawing competition on July 2, 2022 and was intended for elementary school students in grades III-VI. As well as a coloring competition which was held on July 3, 2022, which was intended for PAUD/TK students and elementary school students in grades I-II. Both competitions carried the theme of the museum.
"The coloring contest theme is more about museums because we want to instill in children a love for museums, especially if you look at it, the Solo Museum has not become the main destination for tourists, people actually go to the mall more often," explained Arnain.
To enliven the event, on the night of July 2 2022, Monument Pers also held live music Keroncong which was held on the terrace of the building and invited Humardani ISI Surakarta & Mutiara Putih Sondakan. The event was intended for free for all residents around Solo. In fact, they also distributed vouchers that could be exchanged for drink and milk in front of the building.
Another series of events that are no less interesting is that the Press Monument also held photography workshop and journalistic webinar. The two events were held consecutively on July 4 and July 6 2022 offline at the audio-visual room of the Press Monument and online via Zoom Meeting. The Photography Workshop presented two speakers, namely Andry Prasetyo as a lecturer in the ISI (Indonesian Arts Institute), Photography study program and Maulana Surya Tri Utama as an Indonesian Photojournalist. Meanwhile, the journalism workshop presented speakers Damar Sri Prakoso as Content Manager of Solopos Media Group and Khaled Hasby Ashshidiqy as Lecturer of Solopos Institute.

"Photography workshop is for all people, we specialize in journalism for teachers and public relations who really need provisions for writing," said Arnain.
For participants who have participated in the photography workshop, they can take part in the Photo Story Contest with the theme "Jejak Heritage di Wajah Kota". And the last series of events was the Promotion of the National Press Monument which was held on 7 July 2022 at the Sahid Jaya Hotel Solo.
"We are targeting the promotion of this press monument for middle school and school teachers who are around the Press Monument because at the end of July they usually do the MPLS (School Environment Introduction Period). We want them when there is MPLS, they also visit the Press Monument at the same time when there is an exhibition. It will also increase their knowledge about the old Solo city spots and their activities for introducing schools," added Arnain.
All of these activities were carried out free of charge and Arnain also hoped that by holding these events, more people would get to know the press monument, can add information about the city of Solo and its uniqueness and show that the National Press Monument is one of the cultural heritage buildings which is also the landmark of Solo city.
