Every Thursday afternoon before dusk, under a black umbrella, the routine action of Kamisan Solo voices resistance in Solo Raya. Again held at the Slamet Riyadi roundabout (24/03/2022), this time the 80th Kamisan action raised the theme Papua is Not Empty Land: Solidarity for Victims of Human Rights Violations in Papua. The action started at around 17.00 WIB and was attended by the majority of students.
Amin as the field coordinator, said, “The purpose of the theme taken from today's action is to learn to understand the various violations that are still happening in Indonesia. Therefore, today we raise the issue that is happening in Papua which they feel deeply”.
He further explained that discrimination in Papua is very chaotic. Papuans are being attacked by a regime that acts like a puppet of the government. Their rights are also not being fulfilled—they are killed, massacred, tortured and there is no justice there.
According to him, this action is aimed at the public at large, seeing that many Indonesians do not know about this case because many of the media also cover it up.

Although the action which was planned to start at 16.00 WIB was delayed due to waiting for participants to attend, the action was finally able to start at 17.00 WIB with orations from various representatives. Then the action was continued by singing the song titled "Tanah Papua" together. All participants sang it loudly and enthusiastically. But unfortunately, the action was also stopped because of the rain which forced the participants to take shelter around the location.
According to Amin, the impact of this action on the victims is yet to be ascertained.
"But what is certain is that from this action we are trying to understand the surrounding community to understand the calamity felt by the Papuan people. If the public understands, there will be consolidation that will encourage the government and eradicate attacks on the Papuan people," added Amin.
He also hoped that all people would understand what was happening in Papua. And in the future, we can invite friends to care more about Papua and move to help them.
