Once upon a time, in a forest far away, there was a Macaw who was so proud of his beautiful looks. Every day, the beautiful Macaw would insult and mock the Sparrow for her ugly looks. All the other animals nearby tried to make the Macaw see sense, but he was too swayed by his looks.
One night, the Sparrow was crying on a branch. A Crow who was passing by heard her cries and perched next to her. The Crow asked the Sparrow why she cried. The Sparrow told the Crow about the Macaw's arrogance. The Crow pitied the Sparrow's lament. He offered the Sparrow to help made the Macaw realize his arrogance.
The Crow then met the Macaw. He told the Macaw that he knew a bird that has a more beautiful feather than the Macaw. Hearing the Crow's words, the Macaw was envious. The Macaw told the Crow to bring him to the beautiful bird. The Crow agreed and thus the two birds flew together.
Upon arrival at the pond, the Crow told the Macaw to peer into the water. The Macaw peeked from the edge of a pond. In the pond, the Macaw saw his reflection in the water but thought it was another bird. The Macaw got angry when his reflection was imitating him, so he decided to fight it. The Macaw jumped into the pond, only to find there was no bird. As he drowned, the Macaw began to beg the Crow to rescue him. The Macaw had learned his lesson. He apologized to the Sparrow and never shows off his looks again.
