An act of theft on January 25, 2022 was captured on CCTV in the FAI BEM (Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Islamic Religion) room, FAI Building, 1st floor of UMS (Muhammadiyah University of Surakarta). According to CCTV monitoring, the theft occurred at 13.26-14.00 WIB with the missing items in the form of a Core I3 processor and 4GB of RAM. The perpetrator is claimed to be a man with an age range of 25 years and over with a tall and somewhat fat body. When carrying out the action, the thief also used a sling bag and a gray shirt.
According to Hani Puji, an 8th-semester student who is also a member of the ormawa (student organization) and CP (contact person) of this theft, she explained the chronology of the theft that, indeed since the pandemic, the FAI BEM room was rarely used and rarely anyone entered. However, because there would be a conference activity, previously on January 24, 2022, the room was used and the computer could still be turned on and used by fellow ormawa friends for the purposes of preparing for the conference. Until finally on January 29, when her other ormawa friend was going to use the computer, it wouldn't turn on. Finally, they asked for help from another friend who was good at tinkering with computers—it was found that the bolt from the computer's CPU was loose and when it was disassembled, it turned out that the Core I3 processor and 4GB of RAM were missing. They immediately reported the incident to the security guard and the security guard directed them to check the CCTV. And from CCTV monitoring, the processor and RAM were stolen on January 25, 2022.

But unfortunately, until now the perpetrator of the theft has not been found and it is not certain whether the thief is a resident of UMS or not. Hani also explained that this theft case had not been officially reported to the faculty, but according to her, informally the faculty head had also known about the incident.
Hani also added that actually, this theft case was not the first time to happen, "actually it was also purely the fault of the ormawa because maybe they were not careful with putting the keys, and in the past there was also the same incident and we asked for CCTV to be installed in that room and Alhamdulillah , the faculty agreed that they were finally given CCTV", said Hani. Until now, the efforts made to find the perpetrators have only been limited in sharing appeals and information on the characteristics and photos of the perpetrators in student groups and on instagram of infoums.id.
"The faculty already knows, but what are we going to do? Reporting the police has gone too far. Maybe what will be done in the future is more for further prevention, such as making rules or mechanisms for entering the BEM room, " said Hani.
