Advice on Maintaining Mental Health

Mental health is closely related to psychological survival for the survival of your life. It can also relate to how you manage your feelings and deal with everyday difficulties. Generally, someone who has a mental health disorder will seek support from a psychologist. Even so, you can also make some habits so that you are mentally healthier and all problems that may arise can be prevented. Early prevention is also done so that mental illness that occurs does not develop into a more severe one.


Therefore, here are some ways to maintain mental health:


  1. Exercising Regularly

You can also do regular exercise which is a way to maintain mental health. This is because exercise can improve the quality of sleep for everyone, thus making the body more relaxed and increasing the production of endorphins in the body so that the mood is better. Try to exercise 30 minutes every day for better mental health.


2. Make More Friends So You're Not Lonely


One of the causes of a person experiencing mental disorders is a sense of loneliness and feeling isolated so that it develops feelings of anxiety and depression. Therefore, the way to maintain mental health that you can do is to make more friends so that the feeling of loneliness disappears because there are always friends who want to accompany you.


3. Emphasize Something Positive in Yourself


One thing you can do to keep mental health going is to highlight something positive about yourself. What you plant in your mind will have a big impact on the feelings that come up. Therefore, by always thinking about the positive, you will become a better person, especially when it comes to mental health.


4. Eating Healthy Food


Making sure that the intake that enters your body is still healthy and delicious, then you can also have a better mental health. The brain, which is an influence on mental health, is actually becoming healthier. Carbohydrates that come in can raise serotonin so that the mood gets better. Proteins may also enhance norepinephrine, dopamine and tyrosine.


5. Take a break

For the most part, mental health disorders can be caused by feelings of stress that accumulate. So you may be better off taking a break after some of the things that cause stress. Once the feeling of stress disappears, you will be better and ready to end all the burdens that exist.
